stumbled in this little eatery right on time for the old folks' open mic night. it was really cute: quite a few people walked right up to me and asked about my trip, and said they were really proud of me and seemed genuinely happy to learn about the adventures I had ahead. the older couple running it even sang a little song about me going to san francisco and how happy they were I had stopped in tonight. made for a very warm first night on tour.
